Actions are assigned tasks that help people record, track and complete follow-up work across Engage.
Before you begin
Actions can be created from Assets, Health & Safety Meetings, Risks, Hazards, Incidents, QA Events, Feedback, Audits & Events and Forms.
Quick steps
- Open the relevant record and select its Actions tab.
- Select New Action.
- Enter the description, due date, assignee and status.
- Save the Action and update it as work progresses.
1 Create an Action
Open the relevant record, select Actions, and choose New Action. Enter a clear description, due date, assigned employee and starting status.
2 Understand Action statuses
- Open: Created but not yet started.
- In Progress: Work has begun.
- On Hold: Work is paused and reminder notifications are paused.
- Complete: The required work has been finished.
3 Update the Action
The assigned employee receives a notification and can open the Action from their dashboard or employee profile. Use Update Action to add comments or change the status. Updates can also be made through Your Actions in the mobile app.
4 Review Action history
Use the Change Log and Documents options to review changes and retain supporting evidence.
5 Use the Actions Summary
Users with Admin: Companies authority can open Actions Summary from the dashboard to review Actions across the company, apply filters and adjust the date range.
6 Create Actions from Forms
Form templates can generate Alerts or Actions automatically from selected answers. Open the form template, go to
Alerts, select
Create Alert, and configure the relevant question response. See
