Setting Up Custom Reminders

Creation date: 9/4/2024 3:40 pm    Updated: 21/8/2026 5:12 pm

Engage provides several ways to schedule reminders. The best option depends on whether the reminder relates to an event, an asset, an employee milestone or an employee document.

Quick steps

  1. Use Calendar events for scheduled activities.
  2. Use Asset Maintenance for recurring checks or servicing.
  3. Use Custom Alerts for employee milestones.
  4. Use Other Documents for employee-document expiry reminders.
1 Calendar events
Select a date in the Calendar and create a Manual Created Event. You can make it recurring, invite employees and choose when reminders are sent. Invitees receive an email with an .ics calendar attachment.

If it does not appear, ensure Manual Created Events is included in your Calendar filters.
2 Asset Maintenance
Create or open the relevant Asset, add a date-based recurring maintenance schedule, and assign it to the Asset. Upcoming maintenance can appear on the dashboard and Calendar. See Scheduled Maintenance.

3 Custom Alerts
Use Customer Admin > Custom Alerts for reminders calculated from an employee Start Date. See Creating Custom Alerts.

4 Other Documents
Store the document against the employee under Documents > Other Documents and add an expiry date. Engage begins sending weekly reminders four weeks before expiry to the employee and the person who uploaded it. See Other Documents.
