When an Employee Returns

Creation date: 13/10/2025 2:00 pm    Updated: 13/10/2025 2:01 pm
If you have an employee that used to work for your company, then left, and then after a period of time is coming back to work for your company, you can reinstate their old Engage profile by following these steps.

Please note in order for this process to work, you need to ensure that you have correctly terminated the employee (rather than deleting their employee record), and that you are using V1 of our Employees module.
To learn more about terminating employees, please click here

To find a terminated employee record, click on Employees and ensure that the status filter is set to Inactive to find your terminated employees.

Click Edit on the employee record, check that their details are still correct, and then remove the Termination Date and ensure that the Status drop-down is set to Active. All changes made will be available in the employee Change Log if you ever needed to refer back, and you will have their full role history available as required.

Once confirmed, an email will alert the employee's manager to let them know that a termination date has been removed from their profile.

It is recommended to click on 'Resend login detail' next to the employee record so that the employee has a fresh password to access Engage.

If you have any other queries about reinstating an employee record or any other queries about Engage, please contact support@engagesolutions.co.nz and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
