Release Notes - August 2021

Creation date: 5/10/2021 4:21 pm    Updated: 21/8/2026 3:12 pm

The August 2021 release amended the original Incident workflow (Version 1) and introduced Incident Version 2 for customers using the ACC Accredited Employers Programme.

This is a historical release record. The current Incident workflow, authorities and notification options may differ following later enhancements.

1Incident authorities and confidentiality
  • Incident listing and full Incident access was limited to Company or Branch Health & Safety Contacts and users with full Company Admin access.
  • Other users selecting Incidents were directed to the New Incident screen.
  • Incident reporting in Report Builder followed the same authority restriction.
  • The Employee Bio provided a download of the initial Incident information rather than full investigation access.
  • The separate Confidential flag was removed because Incident records were treated as confidential.
  • Full Incident PDFs and reviewer reassignment were limited to the applicable authorised users.

These were the authority changes introduced in August 2021 and should not be treated as confirmation of current access rules.

2New Incident fields

Versions 1 and 2 received fields for:

  • How the organisation was notified about the Incident
  • Date of notification, where required
  • Person Involved for Injury or Illness events
  • Whether the event happened at work

3Version 2 notification settings

Version 2 introduced Company settings for ACC AEP participation, internal recipients and external claims-provider email addresses.

Based on configured criteria, Engage could notify internal contacts and the claims provider when an Incident was submitted.

Additional internal alerts could be configured for events that might require assessment as potentially notifiable. These alerts were sent to the customer only; Engage did not notify WorkSafe.

Claims-partner access was limited to notified Incidents, and additional reminders could be generated where an Incident remained at selected statuses beyond configured periods.

4Incident investigation changes
  • Versions 1 and 2 could link an Incident to an Asset, with the relationship available to Report Builder.
  • Version 2 could create Incident-related Actions from the investigation screen.
  • Version 2 required a reason where Was this a work related injury? was answered No.

5Injury Management documents and reminders

For Version 2 Injury or Illness Incidents, an Injury Management tab was added to the Incident view.
