This release involves amendments to the current incident reporting and investigation process
(Version 1 - V1) and the introduction of Version 2 (V2) of the incident and investigation process
that caters for those customers on the ACC AEP program.
1) Change to Authorities (V1 and V2)
a. Only health and safety contacts (company and branch level) and anyone with full company
admin access will be allowed to view the incident listing page and have access to be able to fully
view incidents. The branch health and safety contact can have multiple people added if you
require more than one person to have access.
b. All other users; when they click on the Incident link from the main menu options (web) they
will be taken straight to the New Incident screen.
c. Only those with H&S or company level admin access will be able to access the incident report
from the report builder.
d. On the employee bio, there is an incident tab that displays a listing of incidents the employee
has been involved in. Previously there was a view icon that would allow the user to access the
incident information, this has now been replaced by a download icon that allows the user to
download the initial incident information only.
e. The “confidential” flag has been removed from incidents as all incidents are now classed as
confidential.
f. Should an employee request full details of an incident and subsequent investigation, a
nominated H&S contact can download a full PDF of the information from the incident itself.
g. Assigning the incident to a new reviewer – this is still available on V1 but will be restricted to
those with company admin or health and safety access. As mentioned above, you can add
multiple health and safety contacts at branch level if required.
2) New incident – field changes (V1 and V2)
a. New fields include:
i. How were you notified about this incident? (web only)
ii. Date of notification (if required) (web only)
iii. Person involved (instead of people if injury / illness selected)
iv. Did this event happen at work?
3) New notification settings – Company Admin / Edit screen (V2 only)
a. You now have the ability to select whether you are part of the ACC AEP program, select
internal users for notifications and add in external email addresses (for your claims provider).
When an incident is submitted, it the incident type matches our pre-defined criteria then we
will notify the claims company as well as the internal contacts straight away.
b. You can also set up additional internal users to receive notifications for “potentially” notifiable
events; this is in addition to the standard notifications that go out. These are only generated if
the event matches pre-defined criteria and signifies that you may need to Release Notes –
August 2021 contact Worksafe. Please note, these are notifications to the customer only, Engage
does not send anything directly to Worksafe.
c. User credentials will be sent to the claim partner that allows them access to the incidents
menu option in Engage (no other menu option or data will be displayed). The claims partner
will only be able to view incidents that they have been notified about.
d. There are additional notifications that occur dependant on the status of the incident:
i. If incident at status submitted for more than 24 hours / 40 hours.
ii. If incident sat at status In Progress for more than 5 days.
iii. These notifications will go to the relevant H&S contact.

4) Incident Investigation Screens
a. (V1 and V2) You are now able to link incidents to assets. This information will be available on
the report builder.
b. (V2 only) You can now create incident related actions straight from the investigation page.

c. (V2 Only) Was this a work related injury? If No selected, a reason must be given.
5) Incident View – Injury Management (V2 Only)
a. If on V2 and injury or illness is selected as the incident type on the initial incident reported,
a new Injury Management tab will be available on the view screen that will allow you to store
documents against the event.
b. As you upload the documents, you will have the ability to set reminders and allocate those
reminders to certain members of staff.
6) Change Log (V2)
a. If you are on V2 of the incident module, the change log will now show copies of all emails
sent from Engage.
7) Downloadable PDF’s (V1 and V2)
a. When downloading the incident from the incident / view screen, you can now select whether
or not you want to display the 5 Why’s section on the PDF.
