Approving / Declining Leave Requests
Once an employee has requested leave, the employee's direct manager will receive a notification that looks like this:
The manager will then see the leave request on their Engage dashboard and can approve / decline from there.
If the manager would like to approve the leave request on the go, they are able to do so via the Engage App by clicking on Your Actions / 'Employee Leave Requests Requiring Your Actions' and View/Approve/Decline the request as needed.
Managers can also change the type of leave requested if necessary by clicking on Update / 'Update Leave Type'. This will send an email to the employee requesting leave advising them of the update.
An email response will be generated to the employee advising of the outcome of the request.
Changing Approved Leave to Declined
If you come across a situation where an employee has requested leave and it has been approved, but they have since changed their mind and would like to revoke their leave, you can do this by clicking on Employees / "View" next to the relevant employee / Leave tab. From here, the
manager (or those with Admin authority over an employee’s account) can pop to
Employees / “View” next to the relevant employee / Leave tab, and then click on
the red X to the right of the approved leave request.
Once this red X is
clicked, you will see a pop up that states:
If Yes is selected, we will ask you for a
decline reason (this would be along the lines of the employee would like to
revoke the leave request), and once saved, it will then change the status of
the request from Approved to Declined :
