Creating and Managing Branches

Creation date: 12/10/2021 2:29 pm    Updated: 21/8/2026 4:56 pm

Branches represent operational locations or business units and are used throughout Engage for employees, incidents, hazards, risks, assets, documents, approvals and reporting.

Quick steps

  1. Go to Customer Admin > Organisation > Branches.
  2. Select New Branch.
  3. Complete the required information and save.
  4. Use View or Edit to maintain contacts, Areas, Certificates, Policies and other Branch settings.
1 Create the Branch

Select New Branch and complete the form. Fields marked with a red asterisk are required.

Plan the Branch structure carefully because Branches are used when creating employees, incidents, hazards, Risk Register entries, assets, Actions, contractor records, Capex requests and reports.

2 Assign Branch contacts

Edit the Branch to assign the contacts required for your workflows:

  • Branch H&S Contact: receives incident notifications and can review incidents for the Branch.
  • Branch Admin Contact: can support Branch-level administration and configured order approvals.
  • Division Manager: can be used in Capex or configured order approvals.
  • Branch Manager: can receive employee expense claims and may be used in employee or order approval workflows.
3 Add Branch information

Select View beside the Branch to maintain Branch Policies, Certificates, and Areas and Sections.

See Creating Areas and Sections Within a Branch for detailed location setup.

4 Make a Branch inactive

If a Branch is no longer used, edit it and change its status to Inactive. This removes it from relevant lists while retaining its records. Use Show Inactive Branches to find and reactivate it later.

Additional Branch settings

  • Holiday Region: supports regional public holidays for Leave and TimeClock.
  • Uniform settings: control over-allocation and non-uniform ordering behaviour.
  • Areas and Sections: provide precise locations for incidents, hazards and assets.
  • Certificates and Policies: publish Branch-specific documents.
