Please note this article is in reference to our Incidents V1 reporting function. If you would like further clarification on the Incidents V2 notifications, please email support@engagesolutions.co.nz for more information.

If an incident is logged in Engage, the standard notification process will trigger emails and app pop-up alerts for the following parties:

  • The person involved
  • The person's manager
  • The Branch H&S contacts

To learn more about Branch H&S contacts, please click here. Please note the employee and their manager will not be able to investigate the incident unless they are also a Branch H&S contact. They will however be able to View and Download a PDF copy of the base incident information by clicking View on their employee profile, clicking on the Incidents tab, and downloading the PDF there. Please note, an employee's manager will need View authority over their managed employees to access this. To learn more about Authorities, please click here

If you Edit base incident information and re-submit it with changes, the notifications will be re-triggered as above.

If you assign a Reviewer to an incident, they will also receive an email notification letting them know about the incident that they have been assigned to investigate. Note that the Reviewers list stems from all of the Branch H&S contacts across your company.

Please note there are two exceptions to this notification rule.

  • If an incident has 'Other' location selected instead of a Branch, the notification will default to the Company H&S contact instead of the specific Branch H&S contacts. If the Other location was put in error, you can Edit the incident to change it over to the correct branch and re-trigger the notification process, or you can assign a reviewer to the incident to grant them access and be able to investigate the incident.

  • If an incident is logged with the incident type of 'Aggression / Violence', we treat this selection with the upmost confidentiality as it also includes Bullying that could potentially be internal. If this incident type is selected, only the Branch H&S contacts will receive an email notification. The incident will also not be available on the app, and will not be visible in the Incidents tab of the employee bio of the employee involved.

If you have any other queries regarding the incident notification process, or any other areas of Engage, please contact support@engagesolutions.co.nz and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
